Cookie Policy

This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Here's exactly what it does store, and how it counts visits without them.

What we store

This site stores one thing in your browser: your light or dark theme preference, saved to local storage on your device. It never leaves your browser and isn't sent to us or anyone else.

We don't set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no third-party trackers or tracking pixels on this site.

Analytics without cookies

We do count visits, using a self-hosted analytics tool (Matomo) served from this domain with its cookies switched off. It records which pages are viewed, the referring site, searches made in the guide library, which starter packs are downloaded, and whether the download form was submitted. Because nothing is stored in your browser, it can't recognise you from one day to the next, and nothing is shared with advertising or social-media platforms. The data is held on infrastructure operated for us by Skaffold; see the privacy policy for what that means. We explain the reasoning, and why we think every Australian business website should work this way, in this article.

Our hosting provider

Cloudflare, who hosts and secures this site, may set its own essential cookies or similar technology for security and performance — for example, distinguishing legitimate traffic from bots. These are standard to how the site is served and aren't used to identify you personally.

Managing this

Since nothing here identifies you or follows you between visits, there's nothing to opt out of. You can clear your browser's local storage at any time — it will just reset your theme preference back to your system default.
